In assessing equipment and facilities, I use not only the information provided but the "way of thinking" that helps solve problems. No book can give you a checklist for every situation, but with the basics provided you can apply the concepts to new situations.

I have referred to this book many times. It provides practical information which I have learned from and have shared with others. The late Tom Imholte was very accomplished and was in charge of design and engineering for a large food company. His wealth of experience, though now somewhat dated is valuable. Anyone involved in food plant sanitation, design or pest control would find value here.

Written by three distinguished music educators, this carefully organized text explores the relationship between theory and practice in music teaching. From a comprehensive survey of the history, philosophy, and functions of music education to its social, psychological, and pedagogical aspects, the book presents the ideas that affect the teaching of music in any setting. The authors clearly explain the distinguishing features of leading schools of thought, interpret research findings, and critically examine the assumptions that underlie various approaches to curriculum and instruction. Unique to this book are chapters that link current ideas in psychology, sociology, and social psychology to music education. About the Author
Charles Hoffer is Professor of Music at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He formerly taught at Indiana University, served as president of the Music Educators National Conference, and is an established author of books and articles about music.
